ASTM D1418, ISO 1629 Designations: NBR, XNBR

ASTM D2000, SAE J200 Type/Class: BF, BG, BK, CH

General Temperature Range: -40°F to +225°F

 

Advantages:

 

  • Lower relative cost
  • Easily produced
  • Abrasion wear resistance
  • Low temperature
  • EP gear lube compatible
  • General oil resistance
  • Has good solvent, oil, water and hydraulic fluid resistance.
  • Good compression set, abrasion resistance and tensile strength.

 

Disadvantages:

 

  • Limited upper temperature capabilities
  • Not recommended for using in highly polar solvents such as acetone, and MEK, ozone, chlorinated hydrocarbons and nitro hydrocarbons.

 

Applications:

 

  • Oil resistant applications
  • Low temperature applications
  • Fuel systems, automotive, marine, and aircraft
  • General Industrial Use
